Act Section Scores

When available your scores are posted online and accessed using your secure myact account.

Act section scores. Act works hard to adjust the grading scale of each test at each administration as necessary to make all scaled scores comparable smoothing out any differences in level of difficulty across test dates. On each section of the act the number of correct answers converts to a scaled score of 1 36. Scores are processed and added multiple times a week so keep checking in if you can t see yours yet.

The longest section time wise is math at 60 minutes. If you take the act with writing the writing section will be last. Our priority is to expand access to full act testing particularly for students in need of a composite score for admissions decisions.

The act has four sections sometimes called subject areas. English math reading and science. Scores for the act test how can i see my scores.

Those area scores are then averaged into your composite score which also ranges between 1 and 36. Every section is scored out of 36 points except for writing which is scored out of 12 points. Viewing your scores online does not speed up reporting.

Each subject area is given a scaled scorebetween 1 and 36. The longest section in terms of number of questions is english with 75 questions. The super composite act score is calculated as the average of the best act english reading math and science subject scores and is used as one of multiple factors in admission and financial aid.
