Article 1 Section 6 Of The Constitution
And all treaties made or which shall be made under the authority of the united states shall be the supreme law of the land.
Article 1 section 6 of the constitution. And for any speech or debate in either house they shall not be questioned in any other place. The senators and representatives shall receive a compensation for their services to be ascertained by law and paid out of the treasury of the united states. Section 7 lays out the procedures for passing a bill requiring both houses of congress to pass a bill for it to become law subject to the veto power of the president of the united states. And for any speech or debate in either house they shall not be questioned in any other place. Article i section 6 also protects legislators from arrests in civil lawsuits while they are in session but they may be arrested in criminal matters.
They shall in all cases except treason felony and breach of the peace be privileged from arrest during their attendance at the session of their respective houses and in going to and returning from the same. In case of the removal of the president from office or of his death resignation or inability to discharge the powers and duties of the said office the same shall devolve on the vice president. No person shall because of race color creed or religion be subjected to any discrimination in his or her civil rights by any other person or by any firm corporation or institution or by the state or any agency or subdivision of the state.
