Band Section Leader

Being a section leader is harder than being a non section leader.

Band section leader. You have to help your section. It also doesn t mean you get to be some dictator. It is your responsibility to be aware of issues in your section but the resolution of those problems are not solely your responsibility.

It s always great to see which students apply to be a section leader. Becoming section leader is one of the best thing that could happen to you in band. All co section leaders have equal responsibility in carrying out the above tasks.

Be a skilled musician able to read music well piano skills not required but useful. Section leaders will be responsible for efficient operations of their sections. This book is addressed to the army band section leader and to the senior instrumentalist training to become a section leader.
