College Course Section Number
A course reference number usually refers to a specific section of a course rather than the whole course itself.

Use a new course section for each class or roster of students. The section numbers of a class are the last there numbers in a class name. These are often three digits long but many colleges use four digits or even five.
Updated 05 05 2020 10 11 am the five digit section number denotes the day time location and instructor teaching the course. Often large classes with several hundred students are divided into smaller classes of 20 or 30. These smaller sections are indicated by course reference numbers usually five digits long.
