Revolved Sectioning
A full section view is where the entire part or assembly is cut on a single plane.
Revolved sectioning. In a particular view a rectangular and circular duct may look alike. Revolved section view basic concept 15. This section is especially helpful when a cross section varies.
The three revolved sections illustrated in the spear like object of figure 12 show the changes that take place in its shape. Section views full sections. B the cutting or section plane will be observed as a cutting plane line similar to center line thick at ends with the corresponding vertically downward vision direction arrows at the center of the thick ends in its f v.
Revolved section view placement of revolved section 1. Drop a cutting plane perpendicular to the axis of the object and revolve the plane 90 degrees around a centerline and at a right angle to the axis. Revolved section view basic concept steps in construction.
Revolved sections are made by assuming a plane perpendicular to the centerline or axis of the bar or other object and then revolving the plane through 90 degrees about a centerline at right angles to the axis. No need for additional orthographic views. Revolved section view basic concept 16.
Revolved section view revolved sections show cross sectional features of a part. Revolved section when a drawing has may numbers of long structural members of different cross sections it is very difficult to identify the cross section of the member. The half section view may be used where a part or assembly is symmetrical about the centerline of the part.
Retain the true shape of the revolved section regardless of the direction of the lines in the view. Views continued revolved sections revolved sections are cross sections of an elongated form or object rotated toward the plane of projection to show its shape or contour. In such cases the cross section of each member is shown by revolved section.
