Pelvic adhesions after c section. Adhesion formation occurs in at least 25 percent of women after their first cesarean section and the risk increases with subsequent c sections. Acute pain on moving that may even be sharp and stabbing. Here are some complications of adhesions that can arise after a c section.
Following a c section it is common for adhesions to form in the bladder with a band like tightness that spans to the anterior wall of the uterus. Adhesions may result in infertility too. Adhesions can cause dyspareunia or pain during sexual intercourse.
This can cause difficulty or pain with urination. Repeat caesarean age obesity and infection increased the risk of pelvic adhesions after caesarean section. C section adhesions can also form in the delicate tissues of the reproductive tract causing secondary infertility pelvic pain or intercourse pain.
Chronic pain sometimes non diagnosable pain even years after having a caesarean. Adhesions secondary to endometriosis encasing the ureter which is common to find following c section surgery. Cutting so deeply into the body can create significant adhesions as the body heals.
Some women may experience pelvic pain because of adhesions. When the abdominal organs are disturbed when they re moved during surgery or because of inflammatory disease they may become stuck to each other by adhesions a form of scarring.
